I am currently working as a Senior Interventional Cardiologist at MGM Healthcare, Aminjikarai, Chennai. with qualifications in MBBS, MD (General Medicine), DM (Cardiology), and FNB (Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology), I have dedicated my career to advancing patient care in cardiology.
As a certified Interventional Cardiologist, I am experienced in all aspects of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures, including complex and emergency interventions. My work also extends to structural heart disease interventions, endovascular interventions, and device implantations. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working at several high-volume tertiary-care cardiac centers of national and international importance, alongside some of the most respected interventional cardiologists in India.
I am fortunate to be recognized globally for successfully performing a wide range of complex angioplasty and stenting procedures. My research contributions have earned me several national and international awards and recognitions.
Beyond treatment, I am deeply committed to preventive cardiology. I regularly conduct awareness programs across India to help people understand cardiovascular health and reduce their risk of disease.
What matters most to me is the trust and gratitude of my patients, who often acknowledge me as one of the best cardiologists they have consulted. Their confidence inspires me to continually strive for excellence in patient care.
Biography
Dr. Babu Ezhumalai is one of the leading cardiologists in India. He is smart and intelligent right from the days of his schooling.
Dr. Babu Ezhumalai has a qualification of MBBS, MD (General Medicine), DM (Cardiology), FNB (Interventional Cardiology).
He obtained three degrees from JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research), an institute of national importance located in Puducherry, India

He completed FNB (Fellowship) in Interventional Cardiology, accredited by National Board of Examinations, from Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, an internationally recognized tertiary-care high volume cardiac speciality centre, located in New Delhi, the capital of India.
Prof. Dr. Babu Ezhumalai was Top Rank Holder in the National level Medical Competitive Entrance examinations in all the four above mentioned courses (MBBS, MD, DM and FNB).

Dr. Babu Ezhumalai was appointed as EAPCI (European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions) Young National Ambassador for India for the period 2017-19. This appointment is the first-of-its-kind in India.
Dr. Babu Ezhumalai was appointed National Ambassador of India for European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (Club 35, now renamed as Heart Imagers of Tomorrow) for the years 2013-16, acknowledged by European Society of Cardiology. This is the first time India has gained this prestige.
Prof. Dr. Babu Ezhumalai was honored with the appointment as Adjunct Professor at The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
RESEARCH WORK
Prof. Dr. Babu Ezhumalai is very much interested in research activities starting from the first year of MBBS. He has presented abstracts and cases in many national and international conferences and won many awards in the name of Dr Babu Ezhumalai. He has publications in peer reviewed national and international journals. He is invited faculty in many national and international conferences.
